When you make a reservation, please note that we may ask for a credit card number in order to GUARANTEE availability of your requested vehicle. We do NOT overbook our vehicles in order to reach full utility. In certain cases, a deposit is also required. We will contact you via the telephone and/or e-mail in order to request a deposit and/or credit card number in order to guarantee availability.
The van you are renting is a commercial vehicle which has driving and parking restrictions: it may not be driven on parkways or roads that do not allow commercial traffic; parking is restricted on some streets.

The posted rates are not valid outside of the 250 mile radius.Not all destinations are allowed. You must get written authorization to travel out of this area.Many destinations are okay at higher rates. Talk to us and we will do our best to tailor a package that is just right for you.
Saturday rentals must be returned by Sunday 9.00 am to be charged one day.
Aamcar Car Rental will hold a confirmed vehicle for a period of one hour after the scheduled pick up time. Since rental cars in Manhattan are often sold out, we remind our customers to call us in the event of a delay past one hour.
We have two locations in New York City to serve you. 315 West 96th street is located on the Upper West Side and is easily accessible with the 1, 2 and 3 subway lines. If you desire to taxi in New York to our location, the fare should be between $5 and $8 from most New York hotels. If you desire to use our 181st street location (located at 506 West 181st street), you will find this in the Washington Heights area of New York City.
When you rent a car in New York, authorizations vary. Please ask your reservation agent how much you will need to have available for your particular rental.
Our rental rates do not include the cost of gasoline. We usually start you out with a full tank of gas. In order to maintain our rates in New York, we request that customers refill prior to their return. You should be aware that a refueling cost will apply if the vehicle is returned with less gas than you started out.
Please refuel as much as possible before you return the vehicle as the current refueling rate is $7.50 per gallon.
In certain circumstances, “policies” do not make sense. In those cases, the General manager/owner is available to see what can be done, even override certain policies.

Age 23 to 23 – Surcharge of $40.00 per day applies. Driver must have license for at least 3 years with NO moving violations.
Age 24 and over
If you are 23 years old, please call our office for approval to rent. A surcharge will apply. If you are AT LEAST 24 years old, you can rent cars, 7 passenger vans, Cargo Vans and SUV’s using the published rates, however you will not be able to rent 15 passenger vans. If you are AT LEAST 25 years of age, you can rent any vehicle INCLUDING 15 passenger vans.

Additional drivers must also qualify as if they are renting the vehicle themselves. This policy is open to anyone wishing to have a rental car in New York.

As of February 24th 2003, the New York state legislature has repealed the $100.00 cap on a renters financial responsibility for damage or loss to the rental vehicle. From that day on, a renter will be financially responsible for all damage or loss incurred while the vehicle is in their custody and control, similar to other states. For an additional charge, there will be optional vehicle protection available to cover the renters financial responsibility for damage or loss to the rental vehicle. This coverage, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is optional, and may be declined. You are advised to carefully consider whether to purchase this protection if you have rental vehicle collision coverage provided by your credit card or automobile insurance policy. Before deciding on this optional coverage, you may wish to determine whether your credit card or your vehicle insurance affords you coverage for damage to the rental vehicle and the amount of deductible under such coverage.

Geographic Restrictions
We allow our vehicles to be driven anywhere within a 250 mile radius of our main rental office on 96th street in Manhattan. We allow the 15 passenger vans a much wider radius. Should you desire to travel outside this radius, please get approval from an AAMCAR manager, in writing, prior to your travel. Some areas outside the 250 mile radius are not covered by our insurance; therefore, written permission must be obtained. Discounted rates for some distant destinations are not valid. Talk to us and we will do our best to tailor a package that is just right for you.
